Fathers Matter

Outreach Funded by a grant from the D.C. Department of Human Services, the Fathers Matter program provides a holistic service delivery approach to meet the needs of young fathers, ages 18 - 24. Services are offered to custodial and non-custodial fathers to ensure that they have the fundamental skills necessary to contribute to the emotional, social and financial support of their children. The program serves as a support group for young men, allowing them to express personal concerns and parenting issues in a peer pressure-free environment. In addition to parenting skills training and counseling, fathers participate in family-bonding activities, cultural outings, an community service projects each month. Young men engaged in the program have access to all programs and services offered by Covenant House Washington.
